iit jam

iit jam When the IITs were opened in '50s, faculty was top class as people had left their lucrative careers in India or abroad to join IITs as teachers. They had passion to see India develop and lived simpler lives. This is how IITs became world class as they had world-class faculty then. It used be the matter of pride for any one to get associated with IITs as faculty member. It became very difficult to get good faculty 25 years back when the original faculties started getting retired and lot more difficult now as we have more than 10 IITs in the country. So that feeling of exclusiveness associated with IITs be as faculty member or student is already over. IITs are now no more than as glorified engineering colleges. By the way, how many of the present day IIT faculty can solve the JEE papers of '70s and '80s? Not many I suppose and if they could they would have been IITians too!! And probably not the faculty members in some IITs!
