In childhood she having learnt painting, dancing and handicrafts at a painting school, called Chitrangshu. She completed schooling at Mount Carmel school, and later graduated from Lady Brabourne College in History.Rituparna got married on 13th of December,1999 in Kolkata to Sanjay Chakrabarty who is her childhood sweetheart , founder and CEO of MobiApps.
She is actively participated in the campaign for children suffering from Thalassaemia. Bollywood may have acknowledged Mallika Sherawat only for her sex appeal and not for her talents as such, but the girl sure is making herpresence felt in the international scene.Be it the Oscars ceremony or her meeting with the US President, Barack Obama, for a cup of tea, the girl has sure made it a point to mingle with the most important people of the west. Going a step further, this Saturday night, she was spotted at the White House, attending the Saturday Night White House Correspondent Dinner there. Mallika admits that she was more than surprised to witnessthe amount of security that was organised for the event.
This was the second time she meets the US President and though he was seated with other dignitaries on the podium, he made it a point to speak to Mallika from there and they even cracked a few jokes. Mallika looked gorgeous and effortlessly elegant in her white Shahab Durazi dress. The actress is apparently touring the US and the White House to promote her upcomingHollywood flick, Politics Of Love.
