shimogaShobha, 27, of Bangalore who came to Sagar in Shimoga died of H1N1 at KMC Hospital, Manipal on Saturday. According to district medical officer Channa Basappa, the woman who lived in Subhashnagar was pregnant and developed fever 15 days ago. After she tested positive, her family rushed her to Manipal where she was responding to treatment.

But she died on Saturday. The department swung into action, holding a house-tohouse survey to verify if members were suffering from fever so that all precautions can be taken. He said a drive to educate the public on maintaining cleanliness during the monsoon and to prevent the movement of pigs in the town has been enforced. CM Yeddyurappa and Union state minister of railways Muniyappa are visiting Sagar on Sunday to inaugurate the newly-converted broad gauge railway track between Sagar and Taluguppa.
