dream concert 2011 In a move that is conspicuously similar to the concert announcements of the Big Four tour, Dragonforce announced in May that they would be playing a “special show” at The Troubadour in LA, hinting to fans that it may be the only stateside appearance they’d make in 2011, before announcing yesterday that there would be a second U.S. show taking place in New York City. Both shows will take place in relatively small venues so as to provide what the band describes as an “up close and personal experience” for fans.
The LA show at the Troubadour is set for October 18th, while the New York City show will take place on October 21st at the Gramercy Theater. The shows will mark the band’s return to touring after a 2 year hiatus following the departure of singer ZP Theart, and signal the beginning of a new chapter for the band with new singer Marc Hudson on the mic. "I'm really excited about being a part of the Dragonforce family," said the 23 year old singer. "It's always been my dream to dedicate my life to making music. I'm going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting for!" The new record Hudson was referring to has been in various stages of production since early 2010, but is reportedly nearing completion. Guitarist Herman Li commented: "Everyone in the band is extremely excited about how the new material is shaping up....We haven't felt this kind of energy in the band for a long time. We can't wait to unleash the next Dragonforce album later this year."
