rocket singh CHANDIGARH: It sounds like Hindi movie 'Rocket Singh'. But there is a ring of reality around its tale here. Three persons, including two former and a current employee of a multinational company, Metro Exporter Pvt Ltd, which has its regional office in Sector 17, have been booked for stealing its confidential data and starting a similar venture in Sector 34. Though they had been doing this since four years, it recently came to the notice of the company officials when they found another firm placing orders on the same terms and conditions as theirs, sources in police said. The accused have been identified as IA Quadri, Ajay Singh Thakur and Rajesh Nanda. Metro Exporters Pvt Ltd is a Mumbai-based company that exports wheels, spare parts of vehicles and machines and bakery items, among others, to China, Belgium, Hong Kong and other countries.

A complaint was lodged by its managing director (MD) Smita P Bhatia. Inspector Neeraj Sarna, in charge of cyber cell, said, ''Two of the accused had put in their papers a couple of months ago, while the resignation of the third one is pending. An internal probe by the company is also being conducted.'' Sarna said the trio used the company's laptop and phone provided to them to run their business, stole its terms and conditions for putting quotations and also the details of its customers. Sources said the accused have floated two companies, one of which was registered in the name of an accused's wife and children.
