KISS's Gene Simmons proposes to longtime girlfriend on reality show The popular A&E series, "Gene Simmons Family Jewels," remains a top trend on Google this morning after Gene Simmons, a self-proclaimed bachelor, proposed to his girlfriend of 25 years, Shannon Tweed, on the season finale last night.

Debt talks continue to stall with less than a week until default The political fiasco that is the debt talks have hit another hitch as Tea Party republicans have revolted against John Boehner's plan to reduce debt, delaying a vote on a possible solution. Boehner had originally put spending cuts at 1.2 trillion, but a congressional analysis put that figure into doubt saying that under his plan there would be less than $1 trillion in spending cuts over the coming decade. However no evidence has been found to prove he had help at all, or has connections to any such group. Norwegian domestic intelligence chief Janne Kristiansen, has told the BBC that she believes he has acted alone, but will check into possible accomplices saying, "I don't think there is any limits to the evil in this person's head."
