Actually this make Jayaraj to do this movie. The movie ‘The Train’ is all about the thoughts that those 187 people who lost their lives and there dreams and hopes.Mammootty plays the role of an Anti-Terror Squad officer named Kedarnath. Jayaraj said, Mammootty’s character may remind you the late ATS chief Hemant Karkare, who lost his life during the terror attacks that rocked Mumbai city.
There is another important character, Karthik, played by Youth Star Jayasurya. Karthik is a track singer who is also a great fan of A.R. Rahman. He boards the train on the same day with dreams in his heart. He is in love with a girl, who he met on the train, and they decide to meet on July 11 at 6 pm. Jagathy Sreekumar plays a corrupt ATS officer, Saikumar is essaying the role of a Cyber-Cell officer while KPAC Lalitha and Sabitha have pivotal roles.
The movie leads in the thrill of where the bomb will blast and will it blast.The film is based on the 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings. The film is a take on the lives of Malayalee families affected by the bomb blasts. Mammootty plays a character role called Kedarnath who is a Commander of the Anti Terrorist Squad investigating the murder of a young man who had come to Mumbai to sing a track under composer A. R. Rahman.
